I thought I would take this opportunity to talk a little about wedding videography. Many couples decide to forgo a videotaping on their special day, but keep in mind how much the video can offer years down the road. Our company will shoot testimonials of the guests so you can truly remember what your friends and family were like when they attended your wedding.
Once you have decided you would like to hire a videographer, it is important you choose someone who seems reputable and trustworthy. It is relatively inexpensive to get into the video business, thus you get a lot of "fly by night" inexperienced operations.
Also, many brides decide to go with "all in one" companies. Although, this gives the perceived value of one stop shopping, many times this means the photographer or DJ is also overseeing videography and most likely hiring someone inexperienced to create the video or subbing it out entirely. In that case, you have no idea what you're going to get. You want your video to be steady, true to color and composed properly. No one believes that anybody can be a great photographer, so why do people feel this way about video. Just take a look at the demo reels out there, and then I think you'll agree there are those that can do it artfully and those who can't hold a shot steady.
Remember, you do not have to kill your budget to get a good video. You have just got to look around.
