ORIGINAL POST:
I would like to talk about readings for your ceremony. There are many great websites out there with Love Poems and Readings, this allows a member of your family or a friend to be a part of your ceremony, I had a difficult time trying to figure out who would be included in our wedding party and who would not (we had A LOT of friends we wanted to be a part of our special day)so having them read a poem or story picked by you will make the day special for them also.

I think that would be a fabulous idea, our ceremony was serious, until we read our vows to each other, my husband is quite the entertainer and the little break in the seriousness symbolizes the humor needed in a marriage relationship, I hope this helped.

I never though of that. Do you think it would be appropriate to have an 11 year old child read a poem? I was thinking about having a poem read at my wedding reception. I thought of several ways of including various family members, but I am having a difficult time thinking of things for the younger family members to do, other than be flower girls, or take gifts.
I have one nephew who is an entertainer with a really low voice and a fun personality. I really think it would be cute to have him do a reading. My only concern is that the rest of the program is very elegant and completely done by adults, or professional entertainers. Do you think having my nephew read a poem would feel out of place?
